Work of the Abkhaz Statisticians was commended at a conference on the census in Crimea

Sukhum. June 9. Apsnypress. Discussion of the data obtained the prospects for their use in public policy of the country, attended by representatives of the Russian authorities, scientific organizations, neighboring independent republics. 

"It's nice that talking about the results of the census of the Russian region, head of the Federal State Statistics Service, Alexander Surinov praised the organization of the census in the Republic of Abkhazia", ​​- said Head of the RA State Statistics Kama Gogia. Particularly Russian specialists who were present in Abkhazia as the observers and experts of the Census 2011 noted "the goodwill of the population" during the statistical activities".

Over 380 million rubles has been spent for the census in Crimea. Volunteers from all over Russia participated. We have the same census conducted by our own budget and resources. And at the same time, work was carried out at a very high level", - said Kama Gogia. 

According to her, held conference has become as a good platform for the exchange of experience of experts. Methods, reporting forms, the practice of statistical activities - interagency consultation on these topics are an important part in the organization of the upcoming census in Abkhazia. The nearest of them - Abkhazian agricultural census, scheduled for 2016 and in the future - a census conducted every ten years, in 2020 or 2021. 

"The agricultural census will be conducted in the country for the first time, so the experience of Russia is very mportant to us. While Abkhazia has its own specifics: scattered and remote rural settlements, a large percentage of private farms and others", - said the head of department. 

As described Kama Gogia, preparations for the agricultural census will be engaged in the second half of this year. Also experts of the Office will take part in the work of the heads of local authorities, other government ministries and departments. The census will take place in several stages: a methodological training, preliminary collection of documentary information, the actual census, a comparative analysis of the data. In addition, it is needed to train and inform the population about these events, as well as the creation of an algorithm of its conduct. 

"We are still waiting for the state order for agricultural census, the government should put our goals and objectives which will be included in the program of events", - said Kama Gogia.
